Upper Hurst Farm Online Booking

As of June 2022, we only allow groups of 2 pitches or less. Any group bookings of 3 or more units will be cancelled. Please don’t try to book separately – this still counts as a group. Our maximum tent size is now 30m2. If your tent is any bigger we can no longer accommodate your booking.

The site and our facilities are accessible to all. We are located in the centre of Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek in a rural situation next to the River Dove in the heart of the Manifold Valley, where peace and tranquillity is assured. Dogs are very welcome, and we have a purpose-designed dog walk, which weaves through our 2-acre meadow. There are also many suitable dog walks from the site. We have a huge playing field for the children to have a good run around and a play area for smaller children, we also have 4 miniature Shetland ponies who love to be brushed and stroked.

Our facilities are impeccably maintained and have been described as a ‘home-from-home’ and likened to a 5-star hotel. We are always upgrading and recently installed new hand dryers, new hair dryers for the men’s and women’s facilities and spotlights all-round for skincare and makeup-friendly lighting.

Touring & Camping

Super Pitches

The super-pitches are all generous and more than 11 square metres. Each super-pitch has a 16A electric hook-up, its own water tap, and a grey waste disposal point at the rear of the pitch.

Our super-pitches are arranged in 3 thirds: two thirds hardstanding and one third grass. Awnings are to be pitched on the hardstanding all year round. If you have a continental ‘van or have a unit with the main door on the opposite side, please add a note onto your booking to say so.

Tent Pitches

We have 15 tent pitches, all with a 10A electric hook-up, which are set around the perimeter of the main camping area. There is ample room for toddlers to play safely in the centre of this area, but there is a separate area for ball games.

The tent pitches are ample, but we only accept tents with a maximum footprint of 30 square metres, including additional structures such as gazebos or awnings. If you have a very large tent and/or you wish to bring additional structures or gazebos, please contact us in advance of booking.

Gaia's Hideaway: Glamping Yurt with Hot Tub

The yurt is lavishly furnished with an enormous circular bed with a custom-made headboard and plush throws and cushions. Goose-feather & down pillows and duvet, Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels, fluffy dressing gowns and a food hamper on arrival means you can get cosy and tuck in. The yurt has a custom-built mini-kitchen with refrigerator, washing up and cooking facilities as well as dining and lounge areas that are arranged around a central log burner. On the generous decking area there is a Cadac barbecue and patio set for alfresco dining.

For the ultimate experience there is 1700 litre, red-cedar, wood-fired hot-tub for you to enjoy a truly luxurious and peaceful stay amidst the trees, natural hedges and wildlife. Logs are provided free of charge. The hot-tub is heated for your arrival. To add to the outdoors adventure, there is an adjacent, private compost toilet. Underfloor-heated showers are about 150 yards away - back up your little path to the main caravan site.

Gaia Lodge: Holiday Cottage with Hot Tub

The warm, gritstone cottage has been renovated with much love, with exposed Douglas fir King-post trusses, stone flag flooring and a log-burner for cosy nights in. The cottage is lavishly furnished with hand-made linen curtains and blinds, goose-feather & down pillows and duvet. We also have Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels, fluffy dressing gowns and a locally sourced food hamper on arrival. It is enhanced further by fully controllable underfloor heating for toasty toes!

The kitchen has a granite worktop with quality fixtures and fittings and modern appliances, including a dishwasher.

There is a small, gated and walled garden with a north-west aspect where you can enjoy the last drop of evening sun. This garden leads to a further completely private, decked patio area (south-west facing and becoming a little suntrap) with a red cedar, wood-fired hot-tub which is heated for your arrival. Significant discounts are available should you not wish to use the hot tub. Please enquire by email or call us. Within the decked patio area there is also a gas fired Cadac barbecue and seating.
